Wonderland. A place where nothing makes sense. Full of vibrant characters and all sorts of different biomes.

There is no such thing as a singular ‘White Rabbit’ or ‘Jabberwock’, and this applies to most characters. A few are exempt from this rule, such as the Queens or Kings, (they grow up from a lineage). Instead of ‘characters’, they are regarded as species in Wonderland. However, they usually do go by the name of their groups, so it can be quite confusing.

The Normal World and Wonderland are vastly different from each other. The Normal World, set in it’s own Victorian Era, has a slight mix of fantasy to it. Magic and the supernatural exist, however they both are rather scarce. Magic only exists in conduits or fetishes here.

How does one come across these items, you ask? White Rabbits, from Wonderland, often bring items with them on their ventures to the Normal World. And sometimes, these items get lost. Eventually discovered by a human. Items from Wonderland are infused with its magic, and contain many different effects. Some may be beneficial, others may inflict a curse.

These items hold a small amount of magic, and folks are able to see and feel the ‘aura’ of a magical item from Wonderland. Of course, they can only use it for so long before the magic depletes in it. So they are usually reserved for important situations, or locked away for safekeeping. Maybe even passed down as a precious family heirloom.

White Rabbits are the only ones that may cross over from Wonderland into the Normal World. They have a limit on how much time they can spend there before their Pocketwatch transports them back to Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts holds the ability to supercharge their Pocketwatches with magic and allow them to go to the Normal World, usually with the task of fetching certain things.

On the other hand, while it is extremely rare, some humans or other sentient races that live in the Normal World can see one single, personal Rabbit Hole that leads to Wonderland. These beings are marked by Wonderland’s inhabitants as ‘Alices’, no matter the sex. Their body is a conduit of their own unique magic, though they may not realize it.

Once entering Wonderland, they exert their own magic to stay. Once they run out of magic, they are booted into the Normal World. There are roundabout ways to avoid this, such as an inhabitant of Wonderland transferring their own magic into an Alice. If one did this constantly, the Alice would be able to stay permanently.

Alices that stay in Wonderland for an EXTREMELY long time, tend to go mad. This is not always the case, but it is pretty common to happen. Not that an Alice staying for a long period of time is often, however. They are deemed as ‘Mad Hatters’ from this point onward, as they start to wear fancy hats usually.

When she was just in the womb, Alice Liddell’s mother had come across an item from Wonderland near their house. Upon picking up the item, a curse was inflicted. However, instead of hitting her mother, it affected Alice instead and caused her to be born into a Devil.

Growing up as the only Devil in her family, Alice was coddled and loved by her human kin. However, by the townsfolk, she was distrusted and avoided. She wasn’t even able to be enrolled in the local schools. A kind man who went by the name of ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ had offered to tutor her, however. The two have bonded quite well over time to the point where the devil girl trusts him dearly.

One fateful day, Alice was sitting by the riverside with her older sister. Bored, she closed her eyes and opened them, surprised to see a White Rabbit with a Pocketwatch run by. Interested by the peculiar being, she took chase after him. Leading her to her designated Rabbit Hole, where she willingly jumped into and discovered Wonderland!
